After the fresh installation of OBIEE, when you try to import tables in the repository, you may unable to import database object in obiee reporsitory.
Main reason behind this would be missing tnsnames.ora file in OBIEE.
In this case, Just copy tnsnames.ora file from database to OBIEE as mention below.
Database location ( copy tnsnames.ora file from here)
C:\APP\ORACLE\PRODUCT\11.1.0\db_1\network\admin
OBIEE location ( paste tnsnames.ora file here)
D:\OBIEE11g\Oracle_BI1\network\admin
D:\OBIEE11g\oracle_common\network\admin
My OBIEE is running on a linux and there is no admin folder in oracle_common.
