RANK FUNCTION IN OBIEE 11G

Rank Function in OBIEE Chart view

Choose the columns which you are going to analysis to develop the report.

Filter out the Revenue which you want to check, make one calculate column to list the rank over the months.
Creating rank measure column for 10 values according to the month based on revenue.

Filter out the column for rank first 10.

Check the result and view in “Pivot Table View” which is used to drag and drop the column from rows to column and vice versa.

In some cases some of the functions calculated measures wont work in direct graph views.
So use pivot table view to achieve the scenarios of not coming in graph views,We have the graph view in pivot table itself.

For one revenue checking the top rank list according to the month base.

So bringing the graph according to the rank as a bars and month as in horizontal axis.

See the below screen shots to implement.

You can see the revenue as “Total Revenue” compared with the month wise like April, February…
Ranks from 1 …. 10

In graph also the same thing will effect according to the table.

For this you have to arrange the rows and columns and measures in the pivot table layout.
Check the below screen shot,

In the top you can find the graph in the pivot table view also, you can edit the properties of graph view in that tool menu.

After getting the view if you need only the graph, just drill down on the position on the top of graph pivoted results.
