obiee 11g installation loopback adapter

1. Install loopback adapter by the following steps:

Start à Settings à Control panel à Add Hardware à Click on Next à Select (Yes, I have already connected to the hardware) à click on Next à Select (Add Hardware Device) from the list.

2. Install the hardware that manually select from list à Click on Next à Select Network Adapters à Next à Select (Microsoft Loopback Adapter) à Click on Next à Next à Finish.

3. Now go to control panel à Network Connection à Right click on the Local Area Connection (Microsoft Loopback adapter).

4. Click on Properties button à From the General tab, Select TCP/IP à click on properties à Enable the “use following IP Address”

5. Provide IP Address as 192.168.10.10 and Subnet mask as 255.255.255.0

6. Click on OK à Click on Close à Click on OK

7. Then go to start à Run à Browse the following path to enter the IP Address in the hosts file.

< OS Installed Drive>\Windows\System32\Drivers\ETC\hosts

8. Click on OK. Then it will ask for the format the file to be opened.

9. Select Notepad and click on OK.

10. Then enter the IP Address and host name at the bottom of the file and save the file. Then close the file.
