How to do Server Configuration in OBIEE

There are multiple server and operating system configurations that can support an OBIEE environment.  

 
1.  A two or three server configuration is possible and based on the amount of data and the # of users either configuration may be used.

 
•  A two server configuration would consist of a database server and another server box that would house the OBIEE Application and Web servers.

 
•  A three server configuration would consist of a separate server box for the database, the application and the web server.

 
2.  OBIEE is now supported on the following operating systems:
 
•  Windows
 
•  Unix
 
•  Linux
 

3.  It is possible to have an environment that has different operating systems on the servers that support the OBIEE environment:

 
•  Examples:
 
–  An all Windows-based environment.
 
–  Unix database server with a Windows Application and Web Server.
 
–  Unix database server with a Windows Application and an Apache Web Server.
