DAC Execute View Tabs


Execute View:  In the Execute view, you are able to coordinate and monitor current execution plan details. You can also access information about previous execution plans.




 

Parent Pane Tab:


Execution Plans – Create, modify and delete execution plans. The parent tab also is used to run and build execution plans.


Child Pane Tabs:


Edit – Names and properties for general execution plans.


Subject Areas – Contains the subject areas included in the execution plan. Subject areas can be across source system containers.


Parameters – Contains the execution plan’s source and target connection information, Informatica folders, and execution delay value.

Execution Plans – Create, modify and delete execution plans. The parent tab also is used to run and build execution plans.


Child Pane Tabs cont.:


Ordered Tasks – Orders and lists all of the tasks executed at runtime.


Tables (RO) – Lists the target tables for the execution plan.


Refresh Dates– Lists the refresh dates of tables in micro-execution plans.




 

Parent Pane Tab:


Current Run – Contains the currently running execution plan.

 

Child Pane Tabs:


Edit – Provides the execution plan status.


Tasks – Lists the status, duration, and the number of records processed for the tasks in the execution plans.


Task Details – Lists the task details (truncate commands, index drop and creation status,  analyze commands, etc...) for  the tasks in the execution plan.


Audit Trail – Contains the history of the current run.






Parent Pane Tab:


Run History – Lists the history of all execution plans.


Child Pane Tabs:


Edit – Contains the execution plan status.


Tasks – Lists the status, duration, and the number of records processed for the tasks in the execution plan.


Task Details – Lists the task details (truncate commands, index drop and creation status,  analyze commands, etc) of the tasks in the execution plan.







Parent Pane Tab:

Scheduler – Create, edit and delete execution plan schedules.


Child Pane Tabs:

Edit – Contains the name, execution plan, run frequency, start, and end dates.






 


Functions of DAC Execute View

 

1. To build execution plans

 

2. To run execution plans

 

3. To monitor execution plans

 

4. To cancel the current execution plan

 

5. To schedule execution plans

 

 

To build execution plans:


1.Select the “Execution Plans” tab in the parent pane.


2.In the parent pane, click on the “New” button.


3.In the “Edit” tab, title the execution plan and check any boxes that are applicable to your execution plan.






 

4.Choose the “Subject Area” tab.


5.Click on the “Add/Remove” button in the child pane.


6.Add/remove the subject areas that you would like to include in your execution plan.






 

7.Choose the “Parameters” tab.


8.Click on the “Generate” button in the child pane.


9.Enter the number of copies for each container. Click “OK”.








10.For parameters with type “DATASOURCE,” assign the correct value to the parameter. This value will coincide with the parameter’s name.






 

11.Click on the “Build” button in the parent pane to create your execution plan. Check the boxes next to enable batch mode and generate all dependencies.



12.Once complete, validate the execution plan by clicking on the “Ordered tasks” button in the child pane.

 






To run execution plans:


1.Select the “Execution Plans” tab in the parent pane.


2.In the parent pane, highlight the execution plan to execute.


3.Click the :Run Now” button towards the top of the parent pane.








To monitor execution plans:


1.Select the “Current Run” tab in the parent pane.


2.To view the individual steps that run for each task, highlight the task you would like to look at more closely.


3.Right click on the task and choose details. You will see a list of the different steps used to complete that task.

To schedule execution plans:


1.Select the “Scheduler” tab in the parent pane.


2.In the parent pane, click on the “New” button.


3.Enter in a Name, the Execution Plan that you would like to have executed and the Recurrence Pattern for the execution plan.


4.Click “Save”.
